The Organising Committee of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition - Abu Dhabi (ADIHEX 2009) will hold press conferences in each of the State of Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; the dates of 16 and 17 and August 18 respectively, with the aim of attracting more participants and visitors to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi from the Gulf Cooperation Council .Mr. Abdullah Al Qubaisi Director of ADIHEX (Abu Dhabi 2009), Captain Edward Olver Officer Commanding the Household Cavalry Musical Ride will be the speakers at the press conferences.
The Organising Committee will talk about the GCC presence at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition in every edition, and will announce the latest preparations and details of the next session, unveiling many events and competitions that will be held during the Exhibition. In addition to the big achievements in this year’s event which include the participation of Britain’s Household Cavalry of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in ADIHEX for the first time in the Middle East, as well as to the participation of the most important horse racing tracks around the world.
ADIHEX will be held on the 30th of September to the 3rd of October 2009 in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in the Western Region and Chairman of Emirates Falconers’ Club, organised by the Emirates Falconers Club and Turret Middle East, supported by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage and sponsored by the Breeding Stables of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Normandy-France, Sorouh Real Estates and Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The main objectives for organising ADIHEX, which achieved unprecedented success since its launch in 2003, is the promotion of using hybrid birds in captivity for falconry as substitute for endangered wild life falcons; encourage plans and strategies for sustainable hunting, attract tens of thousands of visitors, and promote Abu Dhabi as a unique destination for tourists from around the world.
