President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered presenting 80 falcons to the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2012 (ADIHEX).

The gifted falcons were bred through the Falcon Conservation Project ‘Pro- Falcon’.

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited on Thursday the 10th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2012), which runs from Sept. 5-8, 2012.

After successfully staging the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference, as part of the Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, preparations are well in place to host the first edition of the HH Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak EARS (European Association Racing Schools) Conference on Education and Training on November 2013, it was announced at a special news conference here on Thursday. The press conference was held on the sidelines of the current Abu Dhabi Equestrian and Hunting Exhibition.

Falconers a vital source of information in efforts to conserve the endangered Houbara bustard

A survey of falconers in the Gulf has found that while a large majority are aware of sustainable levels of hunting (65 per cent) just as many (66 per cent) believe the numbers of the endangered Houbara bustard in the wild are still declining and that poaching and unregulated hunting are by far the main reasons for this decline (cited by 58 per cent of respondents). The survey results have been released by the International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC) during the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) which attracts falconers from across the region.

The Arabian Saluki Center, Abu Dhabi, today announced that it will organise the 'Sixth Arabian Saluki Beauty Contest' to be held during this year's Abu Dhabi 2012 International Hunting & Equestrian Exhibition.
